New! Keratin Smoothing Treatment

Curly or frizzy-haired clients, help is here! I am now offering a healthy variation on traditional Brazilian keratin hair treatment. Enjoy, one of my favorite lines of hair products and one that I use often in the salon, has a great Keratin Smoothing Treatment that can smooth down and render manageable even the most difficult frizzy hair.

Unlike, traditional Brazilian keratin treatments, this one is formaldehyde-free and non-toxic. It doesn’t smell like chemicals; if anything, it smells good — a subtle tropical fragrance. However, for all practical purposes it’s fragrance-free. You won’t go home smelling like nasty chemicals.

Enjoy’s product is also gluten-free, which is good news for those who are extremely gluten intolerant and sometimes react to gluten even on their skin. The line was created by two asthmatics who were committed to creating a great product that wouldn’t be toxic and fumey.

How it works:

Keratin Smoothing Treatment infuses keratin — a protein — directly into the cuticle of your hair. It’s applied, then blown dry, then straight-ironed into your hair shaft in order to really seal it in. The whole process takes about 90 minutes and the effects can last for more than 90 days, depending on your hair.

Although not a hair straightener, it does have the same type of quality as hair straightening in that it de-frizzes and relaxes your hair. This can even make it look longer! It’s perfect for color-treated hair, too.

The Keratin Smoothing Treatment costs $300. I am really excited to get the word out about this new treatment, so I’m offering a 10% cash discount. Call me if you want to set up an appointment now!

I have thick naturally curly hair. I think the smell is too strong & more age appropriate for someone older but finding a product that

has everything good/ideal has been impossible. Quite expensive so if you can get a deal then it’s worth it.

Losing hair in the shower after La Brasiliana Keratin Treatment?I had La Brasiliana Keratin Treatment done a week ago, and I am loisng a lot of hair in the shower. Let me explain what type of hair I have. When I was a child I had naturally straight hair, and when I reached puberty the top of my head became wavy, but the bottom was straight. It looked like I was growing out a bad perm. I have very thin, fine hair, but it frizzes very easily, and even though it is fine, I am still able to get volume in it. I had the keratin treatment done last year and it only lasted month, but i didn’t have any negative effects. I am not sure what product the stylist used. This year I did my homework, and found that La Brasiliana has little chemicals and lasts a long time. Also I wasn’t able to find one bad review on it. So I had it done. I am noticing that I am loisng a lot of hair in the shower. I never lose hair in the shower. I know that they say that it is normal to lose hair, and I have lost like maybe five strands while combing my hair, after I apply conditioner, but thats it. Now I am loisng a lot more. Not handfuls, but enough to make me be very scared. I dont have a lot of hair to begin with, so I have always been very grateful that I don’t lose a lot of hair in the shower, but now I am scared that if this keeps up, I might go bald. I don’t lose hair while its dry, only when wet, but I am scared that if this keeps up, it might start showing. You can’t tell that I have lost hair nothing looks different, but I am scared that if this keeps up, you will be able to tell. I am 28 and I haven’t dyed my hair since I graduated high school, so I didn’t have any other chemicals in my hair. I don’t know what to do. Should I wash my hair with my regualr shampoo that contains sodium so that it will wash the treatment out faster? What should I do? I only get this done for the summer, so its not like I am doing it all the time either. I did it last summer, and now I am doing it this summer. It just makes it easier to dry my hair, and it doesn’t frizz in the humdity. Also I am noticing that my head it a little itchy too. Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone? I am very scared. Please help! Thanks!

Has anyone tried Brazilian Keratin Treatment?I have bolnde, naturally curly hair which, up until recently I wore both straight and curly and could do both easily. The problem being that I had a baby just under 11 months ago when I was pregnant I lost virtually no hair (on a normal day to day (in the shower etc) basis) and my naturally thick hair was just crazy. About 3 months after my son was born it started to come out loads. Now, don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t bald by any stretch of the imagination, but particularly around my hairline, it was quite fine. Now I have REGROWTH. And it is short, and VERY curly. Which means I can’t wear it curly I have to dry it straight (which isn’t easy because of my tufty bits). If I leave it curly I just have this ring of fuzz around my forehead. It is ridiculous looking. And when it’s straight, it’s never 100%. It’s not getting me down or anything, but still, I’d like to sort it out. I figure the only option is to try and relax it. I’ve read up about the Brazilian Keratin Treatment quite a bit. Some great reviews, some horror stories, but most of the time the reviews mention that it contains formaldahyde, whereas the version I can get done in my local salon has no formaldahyde (apparently). Is this true? Is there a formaldahyde free version? And does it work?I need to decide whether I’m getting it or not pretty soon as I’m returning to work on 1st Feb and if I’m getting it done I’d like it done before then.
